Where stress comes from — and the source of that stress. Stress causes the heart to beat faster and reduces its ability to pump blood. The heart is a muscle and it’s designed to work continuously, even at rest. Stress can have a significant effect on the condition of the heart.
Stress is caused by emotional and mental health factors, social issues, or physical illness. It may arise out of problems at work, family relationships, or physical health. There are many causes of stress in the workplace.
One cause is job insecurity or low job security — People are concerned about continuous employment. People have unstable work schedules No clear career paths Poor career progression Limited upward career progress.
Another cause is poor communication at work. People don’t understand what their work is expected to achieve. Or they don’t understand what is expected from them by management or their coworkers.
The third cause of stress in the workplace is pressure from the job. People feel they must perform at a certain standard. They may feel pressured to achieve more than they are capable of. They feel overqualified or unqualified. Or they feel their job is at risk if they make mistakes. Another cause of workplace stress is a lack of job security or job stability. Or a change of job. Or a job promotion that is overdue.
The fourth cause of stress in the workplace is conflict at work. Disagreements occur at work. They may be related to differences in opinions. They may be a result of a lack of communication. They may be a result of a lack of understanding. Or they may be a result of a lack of job security. Sometimes, stress is the result of a conflict with family and/or friends at home.
